First field trip from school

14 th May 2014

Arya went on her first field trip today from her school. For the first time she was being driven by someone other than mommy or daddy and went to a place we are not familiar with.
Her field trip was to a Farm and she cut to the a tractor,  milk a cow, and watch sheep shearing. She had an absolute blast. But ofcourse, after a very eventful day she came home fully energized :)

Arya's impression of the Blue Mountains

Written by Arya...  Kinda.

I liked that I saw that little pond

and that we saw some shiny crystals

I like it because we saw the pond and the crystal

I liked, you see, I liked going to, I liked when we went to, I liked it when the lights went off, and I liked it when I sang, and when the lights came on and when the song came on

And I liked it when we sat on the bench

And I liked it when we looked at so many dripping water
and I liked it that we heard water

and I liked

and I liked

and I liekd that water that fell on my head

and when we had lunch

and when I played throwing rock games

and when it got darker and I liked that we heard some news....

And....

I liked the kangaroos

and I like the cows
and I liked the sheeps

and I likesd those horses

and I like that house over there

this time I like it in Epping..

and I liked the blue mountains on the blue mountains

and I liked it when I went on that train

and I liked it when I went on that flying train above us

and I liked it when we went into the cave

and
I liked it when we came out of the cave

and I liked it when we sat down

and I liked it when we all , uhm when we saw some shiny things

and I liked that person talking

and I liked learning about stuff

sooooo many different things I like

and I really love the three sisters

I enjoyed the lodge

I enjoyed sleeping on a bunk bed

and I liked

and I liked it when...  when he teached us soo many thing like..  stuff stuff stuff

This is Aryas visual description of Blue Mountains. Blue mountain with a flag on top and the steps we took down to the pond... :)

Daddy is stumped

1st of March 2014

We had all gone to the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney and were walking around the exhibits. After having a blast at the Wiggles exhibit, we moved on to the space station exhibit.

On the ceiling there was a space suit hanging and here goes the conversation between daddy and Arya

Daddy: Arya, look that is a space suit, space wear it when they go to space.
Arya: I know daddy
Daddy: do you know why the spacemen need to wear it?
Arya: Yes daddy
Daddy: Why do they need it Arya? (thinking that she does not really know the answer)
Arya: They wear it so that they skin is protected and wont catch fire from the sun. And they wear the helmet so that they can breathe in space.
Daddy: (surprised, asks her) How do you know it Arya?
Arya: I learned it from Barney.

Well, daddy did not have much to say and now he has to be happy that Arya watches Barney (Daddy did not like Barney at all)

First day in Kindergarten

4th January 2014
Since moving to Australia in Feb of 2013, Arya has spent more time at home then in daycare. When we moved from one area to another we decided to keep her at home.
I guess day and night of adult companionship has her craving for more time with kids her age even though she always wanted mommy and daddy to play with her.
Arya was very excited about starting school and making new friends. On the first day of school she was up on time and ready to put on her uniform and pack her lunch in her backpack. By the time we were ready to get in the car, the excitement was still there but the smile seemed to have disappeared from her face. She was not thrilled about the part that mommy will drop her off and come back home.
We made it school and she meet her buddy assigned by the school and said bye to us with a smile on her face. She had lots of stories to tell us when she came home. One of the things she said was:
"Mommy, I am going to go to school on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I will never stay at home again." Part of me was happy that she loved school so much, but a small part of me was dad that she was so desperate for friends. The move was hard on her and now finally she has some normalcy return to her life.
Wonder how long it will be before she comes and tells me "mommy I want to stay home today".

Words of wisdom from my 4 year old

29th August 2013

Dipesh and I were having a very friendly argument about something silly. Arya, who was sitting with daddy and coloring walks over to me - stomping her feet I might add and says with hands on her hips:
A - Mommy, you should not get upset with daddy because he is your best friend and you married him a long time ago.

I am not entirely sure what to say other than turn away and laugh a little at the words of wisdom coming out of her mouth.. :)

Look mommy, it is a snake

Arya has been fascinated with snakes for a while now.  She takes a flash light and looks for snakes all over the house.  Last week as we we coming back from shopping into the house through the patio , Arya says "look mommy there is a snake in the patio" .
Needless to say,  I almost jumped. Then I saw the big 14 inch lizard staring me down. A few seconds later it looked as scared of me as I was of it.  We decided to go our separate ways.
Today the lizard decided to be the source of entertainment for the doggies and I managed to get up close and take a picture.
