She made it to the top

11th of July 2015

Today we had gone for a picnic at the Bicentennial park with some friends. The playground had a big spider climbing web. Usually Arya climbs up 2-3 levels and then decides to climb down. She has always been scared of going up since she will have to climb back down. Today, she climbed all the way to the top with her friend Noori. She also made it back down all on her own.

When daddy offered to guide her on how to climb down, Arya said "I am going  to listen to myself."

We are very proud of her.

5 year old's English

Indian tv show

Arya started watching one of the hindi shows my Mom watches and really got into it.  It has a few episodes with ravan kidnapping sita theme. 

One evening she sat down for dinner ( idli and chutney) right before the show was about to start.  Midway through eating she asks my mom:

" Mo aai ( maternal Grand mother) did they find the sister?  "
When my mom responded "no" she said
" Oh good,  I have time for some more food.  Can you give me some more sauce please?  (Chutney)"

Walkathon at school

Arya had a fund raising walkathon at her school.  Daddy went to share the event with her.  She walked 8 laps and raised $48. That is her contribution to building a cover for the basketball court at her school.

She was so far ahead of her classmates that she thought she was last and started crying. She had a blast and was super excited that daddy went to the event.

Arya's first movie

We just got out of Arya's first movie in a movie theater,  Lego Movie in Macquarie Centre Event cinemas.  

She did really well and watched the movie like a big girl and I think she even understood most of it.

First field trip from school

Arya went on her first field trip today from her school. For the first time she was being driven by someone other than mommy or daddy and went to a place we are not familiar with. 
Her field trip was to a Farm and she cut to the a tractor,  milk a cow, and watch sheep shearing. She had an absolute blast. But ofcourse, after a very eventful day she came home fully energized :)
